Abstract
Busting rust and painting by very young and untrained sailors often results in sub-standard work that requires repair. Particularly if the coating is two component and must be mixed at the proper ratio (for example 4:1 or 1:1). Also, for touch-up and repair, large quantities (5 gallons) are mixed with only a portion being used creating significant hazmat waste. Solution: Burst Pouches – a novel and easy to use packaging that is portable, guaranteed on ratio, simple to use (comes with diagram on the label), minimizes hazmat waste, and covers ~ 15-20 square feet. Burst pouches also resolve the chaos and mess of your ship’s paint locker. Instead of many half-used 5-gallon pails that are leaking, dripping, with lids not secure, this mess can be replaced with ready to use burst pouches.
