CTMA Project #: 141060
Problem: Archiving documents for future reference has always been difficult for large commercial organizations with numerous complex systems. The ability to properly archive information is crucial for all organizations, particularly those organizations with rotating personnel. Logistics and sustainment planning are critical factors both in the execution of commercial purchasing, acquisition programs and in maintaining adequate readiness levels of vehicle and watercraft fleets.
Benefit: By applying structured processes, tools, and templates aimed at simplifying the development and approval cycles for logistics, maintenance, and sustainment planning activities across an extensive portfolio of products, it will reduce overall schedule burdens leading to shorter lead times and less waste, while identifying opportunities for increased quality of products and processes.
Solution/Approach: The project will assess and capture lifecycle sustainment planning processes for ground-based vehicles and watercraft systems relative to industry, by using the DOD as a proof of concept demonstration. The maintenance and sustainment consideration include: planning, implementation, and management activities associated with the acquisition, development, production, fielding, support, and disposal of a system across its lifecycle while optimizing readiness outcomes and minimal lifecycle cost.
