CTMA Project #: 140458, 140473
Problem: As the Marine Corps “Resets” and reorganizes to create a “Middle Weight” force following a decade of war, in the face of diminishing resources and significant force structure change, it become critical that Total Life Cycle Management (TLCM) policies, processes and procedures be developed and implemented across multiple supporting organizations and commands. Metrics and supporting data are needed to measure and improve the logistics chain and maximize warfighter support.
Benefit: Integrate the distinct but interdependent processes required to improve asset visibility, availability, supportability, accountability, and ultimately warfighting capability and readiness.
Solution/Approach: Using Lean Six Sigma and Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) techniques, the TLCM program will identify gaps and redundancies hampering effective product design, development, fielding, and sustainment.
