CTMA Project #: 142082
Problem: Today, the lifeblood of large, complex organizations is its data. The collection, dissemination, interpretation, utilization, and storage of this data not only informs the stakeholders about critical business issues, but also identifies areas that need attention and assists in forecasting to aid in hiring, resource allocation, acquisitions, manufacturing, and maintenance and sustainment decisions. The DOD’s F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Program Office (JPO) is a large, complex acquisition program that consumes massive amounts of multifaceted, global data to support rapid analytics and decision-making capabilities in support of Program Management Offices (PMOs). The F-35 program has faced tremendous scrutiny from DOD and Congress to drive down production and sustainment costs while improving affordability standards and fleet readiness.
Benefit: Being able to quickly and easily leverage real-time data on-demand will ultimately have a direct positive benefit to improving an organizations security, supply resourcing, and workforce productivity through better decision making for industry and partners, and result in dramatically improved cost reductions for consumers.
Solution/Approach: The Automated Data Support, Analytics, and Integration (ADSAI) initiative will demonstrate a transformation in the way the F-35 JPO uses data to support program execution and growth by providing a foundational data baseline that is expansive and scalable to effectively manage the production and sustainment of the F-35 while meeting targets to reduce cost and make the sustainment of the platform more affordable.
