CTMA Project #: 142145
Problem: Coordinating and securing communications is paramount for a business to remain competitive and to improve the safety of workers. Current OGX communications networks that support the DOD are primarily legacy analog systems that have limited capacity and are outdated. These outdated systems have reached the end of their useful life cycle and need to be replaced with more viable technologies.
Benefit: This initiative will act as a surrogate for the commercial industry to improve communication networks and technologies across a wide array of maintenance, manufacturing and supply chain organizations to improve logistics functions and enhance communication connectivity between multiple platforms, and in various operating environments.
Solution/Approach: This initiative will explore the level of effort required for the design, engineering, integration, evaluation, and demonstration of a Training Area Communications System (TACS) for mounted, dismounted, and airborne training events. A combination of COTS and GOTS components, as well as digital secure network solutions will be evaluated to minimize the investment in non-recurring engineering.
