The US Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps are partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to develop and test equipment that provides improved functionality in expeditionary infrastructure and medical treatment in extreme cold weather areas such as the Arctic. The initiative will develop and test equipment that addresses four (4) primary areas of concern: shelter fabrics that can withstand temperatures -65°F and below, high wind conditions for expeditionary soft-wall shelters, clean water/wastewater portable systems, and hypothermia prevention.
