Project Announcement: Enterprise Equipment and Technology Analysis – Phase III

The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on a multiphase CTMA initiative to demonstrate utilization of stochastic, equipment-level digital models of legacy facilities, depots and shipyard maintenance and sustainment processes developed under prior efforts. Building upon successes of previous efforts, the objective of this initiative is to begin optimization of shop repair processes through evaluation and modification of workflow, equipment location, resources, and addition of new equipment and technologies.

Phase III will collect the data needed to create the digital models of tens of thousands of shop repair processes that are employed at the four naval shipyards, at a detailed level in the proper sequence under the resource constrained environment described by the personnel, time, space, equipment, material, repair process and travel, with each shipyard undertaking multiple ship availabilities simultaneously. This effort will utilize in situ data that is captured step by step to reach a Tier 3 result.
