The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to identify and address the myriad complexities associated with USG/industry collaboration in cloud-based PLM environments to enable the pursuit of data-centricity under a network modernization strategy, while eliminating barriers to entry to the digital transformation for both government and the commercial industry.
Building on the work completed during Phase I, Phase II key objectives include:
- Demonstrate digital enterprise capabilities that utilize digital data and information libraries to support the digital development of a specific vehicle.
- Provide a cloud-based infrastructure environment for tools, platform data, and business data with access to all program stakeholders to improve development, testing, manufacturing, and sustainment decisions.
- Provide and implement workforce development education material to inform how digitalization and access to program data can reduce sustainment costs and speed integration.
