The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to develop validated approaches to identify, evaluate, communicate, and prioritize a pathway for improving energy and water resilience to meet mission requirements and enhance mission readiness. The goal is to establish consistent, repeatable, and validated processes and methodologies that can be used to develop data-driven decisions that improve readiness through energy and water resilience.

Specific goals include:

  • Understand the feasibility of business model(s) for improvements to energy and/or water management and infrastructure modernization under existing fiscal and acquisition structures.
  • Create data management frameworks that recognize energy and water requirements and how availability can impact mission to inform decision-making.
  • Enhance the level of knowledge sharing and mutually beneficial development of resilient and efficient energy and water management solutions through stakeholder and strategic partnership development.
