The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to develop a trusted, national network of manufacturers capable of supporting the rapid, secure, and scalable production and sustainment of critical technologies. The overall goal will be to establish a structured vetting process conducted by industry that identifies and qualifies U.S.-based manufacturers capable of meeting high standards for security, quality, and scalability.

Additional objectives include:

Building a national network of trusted manufacturers capable of supporting rapid, secure, and scalable production of defense technologies.
Increasing the participation of non-traditional and small-to-medium-sized tech companies in critical technology development and sustainment.
Improving resilience of the U.S. defense industrial base.
