The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to advance the state of the art in engineering support and planning tools, models, and processes to optimize and demonstrate a fair share sustainment model that enables equitable allocation of sustainment responsibilities among multiple stakeholders engaged in shared maintenance and sustainment activities. The overall goal is to create a model that incorporates measurable factors such as resource consumption, operational dependency, logistical and maintenance capacity, and strategic benefit to determine proportional contributions.

The industry partner will be expected to have expertise in:

fair share model implementation
advanced engineering and logistical concepts
modeling and simulations tools
advanced concept and model-based architecture development methods
systems integration
advanced training and demonstration techniques
