Apellix is an aerial robotics company that develops semi-autonomous drone systems to safely perform high-risk tasks such as power and soft washing, NDI/NDT missions, and coatings. Apellix drones are globally certified by top aviation authorities, including the US Department of War (DoW), meeting National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) standards. Apellix drones are engineered and manufactured in the United States, and the company proudly employs US veterans.
Apellix has partnered with the DoW to create autonomous CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear) decontamination drones. Designed to operate in the most hazardous environments, these edge-AI systems neutralize chemical and biological threats with precision and speed while eliminating soldiers from hazardous CBRN exposure.
Apellix’s patented, software-controlled AI drones use precision flight controls to remove workers from dangerous heights while improving safety, consistency, and efficiency for asset owners and contractors. Apellix drones are engineered with multiple semi-autonomous safety features called Apellix Intelligence (AI). In addition, Apellix drone technology reduces or eliminates the need for lift equipment, which can be up to 70% of the cost of an exterior cleaning or coating job. The company manufactures several types of drones:
- Apellix Power & Soft Wash Drones clean large areas quickly and efficiently, significantly reducing the time and manpower required to complete tasks. Setup is quick and easy: unpack the Apellix Power & Soft Wash Drone, connect the hose and power tether, and you are ready to clean. The industrial-strength power and soft washing system allows cleaning operations with personnel positioned safely on the ground.
- Patented Apellix Spray Painting Drones use onboard sensors and intelligent software to revolutionize how large-scale, hard-to-reach, or hazardous surfaces are coated. Field-tested to efficiently cover 3,000 sq ft per hour with operational heights up to 200 ft., the drones maintain perfect standoff distance, perpendicularity, and speed for uniform coverage. These drones have been successfully demonstrated with major industry coatings and contractors.
- Apellix Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Drones are a patented aerial robotic system equipped with an array of sensor systems, a full onboard computer, and custom software to allow automatic flight to contact wall structures for measurements. The aircraft includes an articulating robotic arm with an end effector, which is the component that physically contacts the material being tested. The end effector contains the inspection measurement equipment, such as a dry film thickness or ultrasonic thickness probe.
- CBRN Decontamination Drones reduce warfighter exposure to toxic chemicals. Rather than sending a warfighter in a MOPP suit, the Apellix decon drone autonomously flies to the contaminated military asset, neutralizing chemical and biological threats while eliminating warfighter exposure to danger.
