The US Department of War is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to collaboratively develop, demonstrate, and position for transition a scalable data literacy and predictive maintenance capability that measurably strengthens maintenance and sustainment decision-making for both the public and the DOW. The goal is to demonstrate an integrated model that combines role-based data literacy, standardized analytics specifications, prototype predictive maintenance algorithms, and structured organizational change.
Specific objectives include:
- develop reusable predictive maintenance algorithms within a specific enterprise platform with documented data lineage and governance
- establish standardized analytics specifications that improve sustainment cost control and quality
- deliver structured, role-based data literacy training and a train-the-trainer construct that enables workforce scalability and job growth
- produce transition-enabling artifacts (including business case inputs and qualification evidence) to reduce expansion risk
