The US Department of War is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to advance the state of the art in advanced Metrology and Calibration (METCAL) technologies and processes to optimize complex non-commercial solutions to meet new weapons system/platform availability requirements. This effort will develop and demonstrate solutions to calibrate, sustain, and ensure performance accuracy of TI and TAMs needed to maintain systems and transition calibration hardware standards where traditional test equipment is not available and does not meet specific technical performance parameters.

Phase II will build on the success of Phase I and continue the following objectives:

  • Investigate novel approaches to modernizing current and legacy METCAL systems including those no longer commercially supportable.
  • Provide a common set of systems, processes, and tools to deliver more reliable TIs and TAMs that are clean and accurate to enhance the quality of maintenance and sustainment activities and are compliant with regulatory standards.

If you feel your organization has the technical capabilities and would like to be considered for this project, please complete the form below and upload your organization’s technical capabilities statement.
