The US Department of War is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to develop a comprehensive, integrated framework that optimizes the full lifecycle management, performance assessment and demonstrations, and long-term sustainment of unmanned underwater systems(UsX). The overall goal is to create standardized, data-driven assessment methodologies to measure vehicle readiness, mission performance, autonomy effectiveness and environmental resilience enabling best in class operational and programmatic decisions.
The industry participant must have the capabilities to:
- evaluate current technologies
- develop new processes and procedures
- develop prototypes
- conduct proofs of concept
- test in operational environment
- provide reports and feedback of tests
- provide operations, maintenance and sustainment services
