The US Department of War is partnering with industry and academia on a multiphase CTMA initiative to advance a distributed and disconnected scope of a current operational advanced manufacturing system within specified areas of responsibilities (AORs).

Specific objectives include:

  • Establish and field a viable commercial off the shelf (COTS) technology/architecture (initial operating capability (IOC)) solution that would enable concurrent manufacturing (additive using polymer process only) in a distributed manner
  • Enable immutable US domestic production coincident with military production while safeguarding intellectual property, financial information, and demand signals
  • Enable monetization, remuneration and demand capture of distributed production in coincident and global environments
