The US Department of War is partnering with industry and academia on a multiphase CTMA initiative to demonstrate how advanced concept hardware and associated products for a mobile facilities program compatible Composite Rigid-Wall Shelter (CRWS) Type A can integrate with other existing mobile shelter systems and provide performance improvements. The prototype shall incorporate composite structural and panel components capable of meeting military and commercial Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI) shielding standards, Convention of Safe Containers (CSC) standards, and MIL-STD-461. The overarching objective is to demonstrate how this technology can be extended to a wide variety of mobile shelter solutions for the commercial industry and military services.

Phase III will build on the successes of earlier phases and focus on evaluating and integrating multiple Arctic-capable platforms—including amphibious trailers, CAT-Vs, and SxS vehicles—for both CASEVAC and command-and-control missions. Additionally, the team will work to incorporate a “black box” monitoring system and engineered shock mitigation to reduce patient risk during transport.
