The US Department of War is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to develop and demonstrate a modular hydrogen fuel-cell electric-drive propulsion platform combining hydrogen power generation, a high-voltage electric propulsion system, and power management, along with integrated hydrogen and electric safety systems.
Key objectives include:
- Develop a modular, mission ready, hydrogen fuel-cell electric-drive propulsion platform that integrates all-electric control systems, including steering and power
- Complete validation testing and data acquisition in both a freshwater and saltwater marine environment
- Demonstrate technology capabilities through field exercises with DoW participation, while gathering real-world operational data, not limited to acoustic and thermal signatures
- Provide hands-on system operation, fueling, and maintenance training for DoW warfighters, maintenance personnel, and other government personnel
If you feel your organization has the technical capabilities and would like to be considered for this project, please complete the form below and upload your organization’s technical capabilities statement.
