The US Department of War is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to advance the state-of-the-art in reactive test article development, energetic integration, validation testing, and scalable manufacturing processes to support advanced protective system evaluation activities. This demonstration will combine physical test articles, threat replication systems, controlled energetic effects, and repeatable government test tools and methodologies to create a more realistic, adaptive, and scalable survivability validation ecosystem.
Specific objectives include:
- provide a configurable and repeatable validation environment that can be expanded to replicate relevant blast, fragmentation, kinetic, and energetic threat scenarios
- improve manufacturing readiness, test repeatability, safety controls, lifecycle supportability, and transition planning for advanced survivability and protective system technologies
