The US Department of War is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to demonstrate a scalable, deployable, and modular energy storage and distribution framework capable of supporting both commercial and DoW applications. The overarching objective is to expand the capacity and enhance the resilience of the commercial sector and advanced manufacturing capabilities through a collaborative effort between industry and government.
Specific goals include the following:
- Expand industrial base operations to reverse diminished industrial capacity in support of distributed manufacturing missions.
- Demonstrate deployable, modular energy storage, conditioning, and distribution solutions to enable maintenance, sustainment, and manufacturing wherever needed.
- Develop and demonstrate a comprehensive operational and maintenance workforce training capacity for deployable power systems.
- Replicate and expand this capability across the broader industrial base as applicable.
