The US Department of War is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to establish and expand a collaborative innovation ecosystem that accelerates the identification, maturation, demonstration, and transition of dual-use technologies capable of addressing maintenance, sustainment, manufacturing, logistics, and readiness challenges faced by both commercial industry and the DoW.
Specific project objectives include:
- Identify and engage innovative technology developers with solutions relevant to DoW maintenance, sustainment, logistics, and manufacturing requirements.
- Facilitate collaboration between industry, academia, and government stakeholders to accelerate technology maturation and commercialization efforts.
- Support technology demonstrations, pilot activities, and evaluation opportunities that validate operational effectiveness and transition potential.
- Increase awareness of DoW sustainment challenges and create direct pathways for solution providers to engage with government end users.
- Strengthen regional and national innovation networks to improve long-term industrial base resilience, workforce development, and technology transition capacity.
- Establish sustainable processes and partnerships that enable continued identification and transition of emerging technologies beyond the period of project performance.
