The US Department of War is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to repurpose the Honeywell precision far target locator (pFTL) system to Honeywell’s inertial navigation system known as the Tactical Advanced Land Inertial Navigator (eTALIN) system in order to enable counter unmanned aerial system (CUAS) engagement capability for a common remotely operated weapon station (CROWS) in a GPS denied environment.
Key objectives include:
- Deliver a GPS denied environment precision pointing capability for CROWS
- Establish new vehicle configuration table for that designated vehicle system that will be used for follow-on production
