The US Department of War is partnering with industry and academia on a multiphase CTMA initiative to rapidly advance integrated photonics technologies and the ecosystem required to viably manufacture them to a level of maturity that can be demonstrated and applied to address communication and operational issues in an RF-denied environment.
Phase IV will build on the successes of earlier phases and focus on:
- Advancing assured communications
- Advancing assured navigation
- advancing assured timing
- reducing Cist Size Weight and Power (C-SWaP) of all photonic integrated circuit (PIC) applications
