To keep up with those updates and the speed of change, a CTMA project is using modeling, simulation, automation, and repeatable process to strengthen cybersecurity for aircraft, creating the Standard Portable Electronic Maintenance Aids Syber Solution (SPECS) program.
- Phase 1 of SPECS focused on configuring application and installation technologies, tailored to support permission levels, installation locations, and internet information services settings.
- Phase 2 furthered security patch baselines, updating instructions, and enhanced platform configuration and enhanced preparation activities.
- Phase 3 addresses concurrent enhancement, modernization, sustainment, and maturation to ensure continuous capability improvement without causing disruption.
