CTMA requires projects to deliver clear benefits to the general public. This creates potential for great commercialization successes. Two recent CTMA projects demonstration how new technologies created to solve DoW’s challenges can be used to address current public and market needs. These projects revolve around a membrane water filtration system and highly filled functional adhesives for electric vehicle improvements.
- A recent CTMA project is demonstrating and evaluating a simple, portable water filtration system that can rapidly process high volumes of water with an improved membrane filter resistant to clogging.
- Another recent project is developing and testing advanced lightweight materials for electric vehicles that will increase driving range on a single charge.
- By developing accelerating the development and transition of new technology solutions, CTMA projects are increasing opportunities to advance commercial products and benefit the general public in addition to the DoW.
