The US Department of War is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to demonstrate the that nucleated foam technology can achieve better aircraft engine cleaning results than traditional methods while using fewer maintenance man-hours (MMHs). Additionally, this initiative seeks to continue performance data collection to statistical significance, enabling the transition from schedule-based washing to condition-based, predictive maintenance.

Phase II will build upon the successes in the first phase, focusing on implementing an enhanced wash strategy and using the resulting data to identify underperforming engines or engine cohorts that may require adjusted wash interval recommendations.
