CTMA Project #: 142138
Problem: The Internet of Thing (IoT) devices generate vast amounts of data from sensors attached to people, machine parts or environment sensors making it a significant driver of big data which allows companies and other organizations to collect, aggregate, and analyze vast data sets. The recent COVID-19 pandemic has elevated the profile of the importance of incorporating new methods to assure Force Health Protection and Supply Chain Risk management so that key health information can be analyzed to ensure the proper PPE, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, and vaccines can be delivered to the correct location in support of civil authorities at home or military operations overseas.
Benefit: For the public, leveraging the results of these tasks can help commercial industries to better collect and analyze key data to better forecast and execute supply chain transactions that prevent failures and disruptions of critical supplies across various pharmaceutical, food, transportation, communication, and power and energy sectors during dynamic health environment events.
Solution/Approach: The intent of this initiative is to leverage advanced commercial technologies and processes to improve collection of population health signal data and to use that data to predict future disruptions in the supply chain. The effort will determine how to improve the ability to collect and analyze sensing data and warnings, secure information regarding supplies, and alert the supply chain to new demands. The capability itself must be able to adapt in the future for general sensing of health events such as pandemics and CBRNE events. Block chain technologies will be able to reliably maintain an accurate picture of critical medical devices, equipment, and parts in inventory at locations worldwide.
