NCMS Project #: 142387

Problem: Supply chain vulnerabilities throughout the world are constantly in the public eye and threaten the resilience of every industry. Recognizing and analyzing potential gaps allow industries to be proactive and achieve greater efficiencies. A cost effective, data driven, consistent, high performing supply chain is as challenging to maintain today as it is critical to an organization’s success. Today, the Fleet and Type Commanders (TYCOMs) have identified significant inefficiencies in overall operations relating to manual interventions and workarounds necessary created by supply chain shortfalls that impact readiness.

Benefit: The completion of the project tasks will serve as an example to the commercial industry of how the application of data driven developmental processes and tools can help organizations mitigate risks and reduce the critical resources lost when unforeseeable events impact their product supply chains.

Solution/Approach: The overall objective of this initiative is to increase mission readiness and execute supplier operations logistics support. A primary goal is to identify and develop data-based workload management and decision-making tools that increase efficiency and improve performance of supplier operations.
