NCMS Project #: 143059

Problem: Finding application training curriculums or courses is easy. However, classroom training is frequently unaccompanied with practical application of lessons learned. Even after an employee/student is trained, they need to have access to the right tools in a safe environment, where they can practice what they were trained without the risk of damaging any critical real-world equipment and systems.

Benefit: Adopting DE methodologies can help maintenance and sustainment companies create dynamic training opportunities that increase long-term retention of information and critical understanding of complicated steps. This is extremely important in industries that have maintenance and sustainment roles where safety or business can quickly be compromised by incorrect choices.

Solution/Approach: Using the Army DE Directive as a surrogate, this effort will provide the framework for a scalable training approach by creating a “digital sandbox” where real world training processes and techniques can be tested and analyzed. This effort will also demonstrate the requirements for setting up a DE lab in a secure gov-cloud environment which can be utilized in future endeavors.
