CTMA Project #: 142142
Problem: Although the word audit makes most people cringe, audits are a necessary process for any organization working to understand the current state of the business and where it needs to improve. However, gaps continue to be created as audit functions across a corporation are disparate and lack a more centralized open architecture software functionality. Issues such as accurate inventory levels, equipment monitoring, and labor management can greatly affect maintenance activities if not audited properly.
Benefit: The completion of these tasks will provide the commercial industry a pathway to more complex audit software integration for large, expanding, multi-faceted organizations with a global reach. It will provide a senior management dashboard pathway to have total financial and asset visibility, which will reduce costs at all levels through increased efficiencies.
Solution/Approach: The intent of this initiative is to enhance existing audit software capabilities to create a more efficient, robust, expandable architecture that will significantly increase readiness functions, while reducing manpower and organizational maintenance/sustainment support costs. Using the Army’s Audit Readiness Tool (ART) core as a surrogate, initial new software improvements will focus on augmenting process support for audit initiatives in multiple phases. The overarching objective is to evaluate a sound, repeatable, and tailorable process audit response tool to enhance timely audit response across commercial entities, the Army, and multiple DOD organizations.
