CTMA Project #: 140973

Problem: The Navy requires the ability to integrate the common software and hardware capabilities of the Minotaur system across multiple platforms in a networked manner to reduce maintenance and sustainment costs and improve warfighting capability. To achieve this, an innovative strategy must be developed. This solution requires the integration of the Minotaur system in a disciplined, yet agile manner.

Benefit: The lessons learned from applying common hardware and software, along with integration tools, can be leveraged by other DoD and commercial organizations as best practices for complex, data-driven, heavy equipment industries to reduce their sustainment costs and improve their effectiveness in operating as a networked and integrated system of systems.

Solution/Approach: Through this concept demonstration, the Naval Air Systems Command’s Program Office aims to identify an implementable strategic vision and strategy to integrate the Minotaur system onto multiple federal and defense intelligence gathering, processing, and execution nodes, forming a comprehensive Common Operating Picture that is optimized for sustainment, affordability and interoperability, capable of meeting the need for battlespace awareness to synchronize actions necessary for maritime Full Spectrum Superiority.
