CTMA Project #: 140873
Problem: The general public needs a strategy for effectively educating their workforce on the role of operational energy for mission success and incorporating the use of energy efficient technologies and operating procedures (conservation) into policies, doctrine, and other maintenance and sustainment requirements.
Benefit: Incorporating energy across the training and education continuum will ensure that the workforce understand the role of energy as a combat enabler, and the importance of adopting new energy efficient technologies and operational procedures to enable future capabilities.
Solution/Approach: The objective of this effort is to develop and evaluate the incorporation of energy awareness and best practices into all levels of maintenance and sustainment training and education. The specific DoD goal being to engender in Sailors, Marines and civilian support staff a greater understanding of the impact of energy on the mission and steps they can take to be more energy efficient.
