CTMA Project #: 140952

Problem: The Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (DASD) for Counter Narcotics and Global Threats (CNGT) looks to improve Combatant Commands (CCMDs) and federal Agencies’ abilities to access Army Reserve Component (RC) capabilities and to streamline military support for Department of Defense (DoD)-approved counterdrug missions.

Benefit: Using the MARRS software as the demonstration test bed, the DASD for CNGT will have the tools to effectively manage their equipment, personnel and financial resources through implementation of these enhanced mission analysis and planning tools, including financial accounting and activities information reporting tools. When a municipality can partner with the DoD to create task forces that help eliminate the deadly effects of illegal drug trafficking, then a level of confidence and positivity might be gained throughout the community.

Solution/Approach: The adoption of MARRS will improve the DASD CNGT’s ability to maintain real-time information awareness and sharing of mission and financial data with state and federal partners and provide support to address challenges. Leveraging this platform will provide a simplified method with standardized business processes and rules to validate, prioritize, source and audit Combatant Command (COCOM) and Army activities.
