NCMS Project #: 142297
Problem: For commercial businesses, new and emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), multifunction digital electronics, cyber, and advanced area denial-of-service systems are all contributing to an increasingly complex system for these electronic and software-based systems. As these new capabilities are developed quickly and are more complex it is difficult for organizations to keep pace with changes.
Benefit: The project will serve as an example to the commercial industry in how to develop a MBSE approach that will be applicable to the vertical and horizontal integration of technologies to meet vehicle system capability and maintenance and sustainment gaps, as well as industrial base and maintenance site operations.
Solution/Approach: Phase IV will leverage the lessons, metadata, and models developed from previous phases to assess emerging technologies and determine their maturity and ability to improve maintenance and sustainment across current and future vehicles in the Army’s Combat Vehicle portfolio. In addition, this phase will assess options to determine the most effective and efficient processes, organizational structure, facilities, equipment, parts, and people to execute industrial base and maintenance site operations for overseas and domestic purposes.
