NCMS Project #: 142342

Problem: A significant problem for both aerospace and automotive industries are the complex and time-consuming nature of maintenance and servicing which often involves limited access, unclear documentation, and the absence of real-time data. These challenges can lead to increased downtime, higher maintenance costs, and reduced operational efficiency.

Benefit: By providing real-time access to documentation and fostering collaboration, this solution will improve maintenance efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance the overall performance of LRUs in aerospace and automotive systems.

Solution/Approach: This effort will collaboratively integrate industry participant technologies that will demonstrate real-time data sharing, collaboration, and analysis, resulting in improved serviceability for Line Replaceable Units (LRUs). By utilizing these technologies, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) can create a digital representation of each LRU. This digital representation serves as a single source of truth that can be accessed and updated throughout the entire product lifecycle. These novel technologies will demonstrate how OEMs can manage and leverage this digital representation to optimize serviceability.
