The successful developments from this project, such as low-cost manufacturing of lighter-weight thermoplastic composite vehicle structures and low-cost tooling which will enable implementation of vehicle lightweighting, have immediate benefit to the military but will also provide long-term benefits to the commercial/consumer automotive industries.
