CTMA Project #: 141008
Problem: Commercial systems that house critical information must be maintained and readily available to provide the services needed by the public at a moment’s notice. Knowing that there are the risks and vulnerabilities that could prevent or interrupt this ability is not enough. A repeatable, reliable and consistent approach to identify these risks and vulnerabilities is needed to allow mitigation efforts to be implemented. This problem is not unique to the commercial sector.
Benefit: A robust assessment of the supply chain can streamline, anticipate, coordinate, and facilitate equipment maintenance, providing an organization with the confidence in its assets that they will be able to use them reliably for longer periods of time.
Solution/Approach: Through this concept demonstration, the Naval Air Systems Command’s (NAVAIR’s) Program Office aims to identify a process and methodology to gain insight into the supply chain for the critical subsystems and components within both the Aviation Data Management and Control System (ADMACS) and Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS).
