CTMA Project #: 140961

Problem: NAVAIR and their partners rely on accurate, timely and secure aircraft logistics data to determine the health, availability, maintenance level, and readiness of their aircraft. NAVAIR requires a solution which enables the ability to record, validate, manage, safeguard and securely share information.

Benefit: This solution addresses key NAVAIR challenges such as duplication of effort, lack of trust in the data, inconsistent and/or incomplete information and other factors which have been the impetus for different organizations to implement redundant systems.

Solution/Approach: The proposed solution is to develop a blockchain facilitated Proof of Concept (PoC), which both demonstrates the value a blockchain-based architecture provides to address issues associated with data sharing, data connectivity and data quality and also serves as an educational vehicle to NAVAIR around the capabilities and considerations related to a blockchain solution. A shared set of APIs and services will be developed that leverage the blockchain to demonstrate how it can be used to meet NAVAIR requirements.
