About Environmental Programs
The EPA Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance (OECA) assists with pollution problems that impact American communities through vigorous civil and criminal enforcement. Our enforcement activities target the most serious water, air and chemical hazards. OECA works with EPA regional offices, and in partnership with state and tribal governments, and other federal agencies to enforce the nation’s environmental laws.
As a component of the EPA OECA department, the EPA Compliance Assistance centers help businesses, colleges and universities, local governments, tribes and federal facilities understand and comply with environmental requirements and save money through pollution prevention techniques.
