Technology Showcase
Tuesday, November 5 – Thursday, November 7, 2024
EVENT DETAILS

Join us as NCMS hosts a Technology Showcase at the US Naval Shipyard Repair Facility and Japan Regional Maintenance Facility (SRF-JRMC) in Yokosuka, Japan November 5-7, 2024. The goal of this event is to connect U.S. Fleet Activities Yokosuka to companies and organizations whose technologies can benefit shipyard operations at the installation.

This event is an opportunity for participants to present their products, processes, and capabilities and meet directly with DOD personnel. Exhibitors will not only gain high visibility for their products and services, but they’ll also learn about opportunities for collaboration directly from the leading technology experts who serve the Navy’s maintenance community.

A list of technology capability priorities they would like to see demonstrated at this event is available in the “Desired Capabilities” tab above. Please review that list before registering. If your technology is not on the list, contact NCMS for further discussion. To provide the most impact, actual demonstrations of capabilities when applicable are highly encouraged.

Please Note: Yokosuka, Kanagawa, Japan is 13 hours ahead of the Eastern Time Zone.

How to get the most out of your participation at an NCMS Technology Showcase

Each exhibitor’s space will be visited by individuals representing Government, Industry, and Academia. Please have a prepared “elevator” description of your technology and how it will benefit maintenance and sustainment efforts. This prepared speech should engage your audience quickly. Be prepared to demonstrate your technology or offer a short presentation on how your technology works. Be sure that you have deliverables that speak to the benefits of your technology, and if possible, create handouts or other marketing collateral.

Actionable Items

  • Make sure your team has an elevator speech. Be prepared to describe your technology solution/service and its benefits in 30 seconds or less.
  • Demo, demo, demo! Demonstrations draw attention at the event.
  • Bring plenty of collateral!
  • Keep your exhibit space staffed. Traffic is unpredictable and intermittent, so plan to have a representative at your table during all show hours.
  • Refrain from packing up or leaving before the event ends. An empty tabletop reflects poorly upon your company/organization.
  • Online Directory: As a part of exhibitor registration, you are required to submit company and technical abstracts. To make a lasting impact, be sure to complete this package by submitting your logo and quad chart to eventsupport@ncms.org.

Exhibitor Directory to Come.

Best Practices for Submission of Exhibitor Materials

NCMS will provide attendees with an online Exhibitor Directory accessible to anyone with internet access.

Note that our government partners have requested that Quad Charts be submitted by all exhibitors. Those Charts will be the main place to profile your technology solutions. Even if you have previously submitted a quad chart, you must submit a new one with the Fillable Quad Chart Template linked below.

To make the best possible use of the online space for the directory, we ask that participating exhibitors follow these instructions:

  1. Submit a 150-word description of your technology solution.
  2. Submit a 100-word description of your organization.
  3. Download the pdf Fillable Quad Chart Template provided here, fill it out in Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat, and save it as a pdf with your company’s name in the file title.
    1. For Problem Statement, describe what problem the technology is meant to solve (app. 80 words maximum)
    2. For Solution Statement, describe the technology product or service (app. 80 words maximum)
    3. For Benefits Statement, describe the expected impact of the technology (app. 80 words maximum)
    4. For Graphics, insert 1 graphic saved as a jpg or png.

Quad Chart Explanation

Note: attempts to make the type smaller than 12 points so more text can fit in each quadrant will result in the submission being sent back. All quad charts must be uploaded with your exhibitor registration – see “Quad Chart Submission” section at the top of the righthand column.
