The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on a multiphase CTMA initiative to advance large-scale AM processes to replace or supplement the use of large-scale castings and forgings for high importance, low-volume replacement components for a legacy platform. Specific objectives include:

  • Create a data package for main shaft engine seal components (or engine dynamic seal rotor) sufficiently detailed for a low-rate initial production decision for customer acceptance.
  • Develop material data package for metal binder jet 17-4 PH stainless steel.
  • Quantify the technical and commercial benefits of binder jetting as a low-cost, high-volume option for AM.

If you feel your organization has the technical capabilities and would like to be considered for this project, please complete the form below and upload your organization’s technical capabilities statement.

Interested Submissions Due by 10-22-24.

We encourage participation of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs), including Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) and Women’s Business Enterprises (WBEs).
