The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to develop a hybrid electric utility boom truck. Specific objectives will include demonstrating its utility, and assessing performance metrics including fuel and cost savings, emissions reduction, and operational efficiencies. The overall goal will be to determine the benefits of its usage and scalability of the technology.
