The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on a multiphase CTMA initiative to bolster the advanced manufacturing capacity in the INDOPACOM region. The overall objective is to demonstrate, develop, and improve prototype manufacturing, casting, forging, maintenance, repair, & overhaul capabilities and facilities in the region.

Specific goals include the following:

  • Expand industrial base operations to reverse diminished industrial capacity in the INDOPACOM region by improving capacity at existing facilities.
  • Demonstrate physical infrastructure solutions to enable maintenance, sustainment, and production of more advanced technologies at facilities in the INDOPACOM region.
  • Integrate digital infrastructure solutions which support maintenance, sustainment, and manufacturing operations at production facilities in the INDOPACOM region.
  • Develop an on-site capacity to perform routine and complex maintenance on capital equipment procured during this project.
  • Develop a holistic complex of advanced manufacturing production and training capacity in the INDOPACOM region.
  • Replicate and expand this complex to a broader network as applicable.
