The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to demonstrate the capability, introduction, and prototyping of advanced manufacturing, casting, forging, maintenance, repair, overhaul, and facilities in support of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) mission priorities.

Specific goals include:

  • Expand industrial base operations to reverse diminished industrial capacity in the INDOPACOM region.
  • Demonstrate infrastructure solutions to enable maintenance, sustainment, and production of more advanced technologies in the INDOPACOM region.
  • Develop a holistic complex of advanced manufacturing production and training capacity in the INDOPACOM region.
  • Replicate and expand this complex to a broader network as applicable.

The industry team will be expected to gather requirements from Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment (IBAS), the DOD, INDOPACOM, and the Defense Industrial Base for an initial phase of capability introduction. These requirements shall drive the product specification from which multiple INDOPACOM-related facilities and capabilities will be derived.
