The US Department of War is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to establish an integrated support package for the F-35 enterprise, enabling the synchronization of readiness integration, aircrew flight equipment (AFE) sustainment, and sustainment execution. The overall goal is to establish methodologies that improve fleet management, predictive sustainment, and aircraft availability.

Key objectives include:

  • Readiness Integration: Synchronize modernization, basing, and sustainment planning across the F-35 enterprise, including deployable debrief facility management plans
  • AFE Readiness Integration: Integrate aircrew flight equipment sustainment with aircraft modernization schedules for early issue identification and resolution
  • Sustainment Integration Support: Establish agile sustainment execution, embedding functional SMEs within a unified planning framework
