The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to set up an integrated logistics data and analytics system that manages data processing, data analytics, and business intelligence needs. The overall goal is to enable proactive decision making to optimize maintenance and sustainment operations for fleets of vehicles.
Specific objectives include:
• Integrate all data sources, including necessary processing scripts into the centralized environment
• Create automated data quality scripts to ensure data accurately represents operating environment
• Create automated calculation scripts to display metrics critical to identify sub-optimal sustainment operations
• Create a feedback loop for stakeholders to intervene and monitor the implementation/correction of actions
• Validate metric calculations against historic data
