The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to explore technologies to further automate warehouse processes and data collection efforts required to achieve savings through improved warehouse visibility and maintenance support. The overall objective of this effort will be to give organizations the knowledge to effectively implement and scale capabilities and practices that improve storage utilization in warehouses, automate applicable warehouse and inventory processes, and create visibility to smooth the hand off between supply and maintenance.
The industry participant will provide expertise to evaluate and recommend solutions to:
- automate warehouse processes including inventory cycle counting
- optimize warehouse storage practices
- efficiently connect maintenance and supply operations
The participant must have the capability to evaluate and recommend solutions that address the complexity of the DOD’s warehousing and distribution infrastructure, the diverse interaction points within DOD’s supply chains and the breadth of commercially available automation capabilities.
If you feel your organization has the technical capabilities and would like to be considered for this project, please complete the form below and upload your organization’s technical capabilities statement.
