The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to demonstrate autonomous robotic technology to augment and enhance continuous fire watch capabilities for maintenance and sustainment environments.

Specific objectives include:

  • Demonstrate the viability of K5GOV robots to serve as autonomous fire watch agents, reducing reliance on human labor for this function.
  • Enhance the safety of manufacturing processes by leveraging advanced monitoring technologies for early fire detection.
  • Reduce operational costs associated with fire watch services while maintaining or exceeding current safety standards.
  • Validate a scalable, FEDRamp-compliant autonomous solution that could be adopted by other DOD installations and private sector industries.
  • Showcase the potential for integrating security and surveillance robotic systems into complex and dynamic industrial environments.
