The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on a multiphase CTMA initiative to establish the cold spray repair application, repair technique, and process standards for uses identified by specific military repair locations for new repairs and current repairs deemed not adequate due to cost, lead-time, or performance.

Specific goals will include:

• Identifying the parent metal substrate
• Identifying necessary repair surfaces
• Identifying primary gas and powder to be used
• Developing airworthiness qualification parameters for each part developed.
