The US Department of War is partnering with industry and academia on a multiphase CTMA initiative to demonstrate a digitized system to optimize resources and throughput to achieve key performance metrics. The overall goal is to provide a standardized suite of digital tools capable of simulating current- and future-state processes and evaluating effects of process changes. The simulations developed and demonstrated under this effort must integrate with existing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems to achieve economies of scale and operational synergies across sites.
Phase II will build upon the foundation established during Phase I by applying the lessons learned to demonstrate and validate the scalability and replicability of the digital modeling approach across diverse manufacturing, maintenance and sustainment environments.
